F1 Launch Season: Alpha Tauri Unveil their AT04

Alpha Tauri launched their much altered 2022 Livery and 2023 car in their all new AT04 in what was a world record for shortest car launch since Mastercard Lola went bust in 1997.

In a much altered livery, the team have switched from dark blue and white side pods to all dark blue as well as red and white logos of their new Polish sponsor PKN Orlen in red and white. In terms of Aerodynamic design it’s much similar to last year’s Red Bull with the slanted side pod and the perturding lip on the engine cover. This should give the car a much more competitive position on the grid.

The car this year must be an improvement on what was a very heavy AT03 that under delivered on its pre-season potential.

The team has a new driver in ex-Formula E champion and one off race points scorer Nyck De Vries who should deliver for the team based off his performance with Williams last year at Monza after Alex Albon had appendicitis.

However, the team will be most likely looking at losing Yuki Tsunoda at some point this year as Liam Lawson is ready to go if Yuki doesn’t deliver on the promise he showed in F2 in 2020 and the mixed form he has in F1 doesn’t improve.
