Ashbrooke Belford House host Jarrow on Saturday in a fixture that could take the visitors to top spot.

The hosts were beaten in the reverse fixture 4-0 early on in the season, which set the tone for Jarrow FC’s plight.

The fixture looks to be an interesting one, with both teams in good form – Ashbrooke having won their last two fixtures, and Jarrow winning four of their last five.

Ashbrooke will be looking to secure points, as their games in hand on the teams above them could see them potentially move up to 5th, six positions higher than they currently reside.

Ashbrooke will need to be weary of conceding goals however, as they have failed to keep a single clean sheet in the league so far. With Jarrow striker Peter Kane bagging three goals in his last four appearances.

Jarrow are vying for top spot, with their biggest rivals for the position being Richmond FC, who in their last fixture against Ashbrooke, hammered the Wearside outfit 10-0.

A victory in this match for Ashbrooke could take them up to 8th position, on goal difference.

Ashbrooke will want to keep an eye on young Jarrow midfielder Kai Elliott, who so far this season has picked up two man of the match awards, however has shown poor discipline, receiving six yellow cards also.
