One of Europe’s leading mixed martial arts promotions, BAMMA, has announced a deal with ITV4 which will see the broadcaster air their upcoming Newcastle fight night.

BAMMA 33, takes place at the Metro Radio Arena and will be the first show to be aired on the channel. It has been over 3 years, with the last being Cage Warriors 73 on 1st November 2014.

The promotion will relocate to Newcastle this month, perhaps for the inclusion of their new reality star, Aaron Chalmers. The show sees some of the finest talents in the North-East including the likes of Ryan Scope, Colin Fletcher and Tony Mustard.

Geordie Shore’s Chalmers will also be fighting in his third contest with the promotion, making his debut back in May. Chalmers has had back-to-back first round finishes and will be hoping for similar in front of his home crowd.

Sunderland Heavyweight Tony Mustard, who faces Darren Towler at the event, exclusively told Sportsbyte how he feels about ITV broadcasting MMA for the first time:

“I’m over the moon! It great for MMA and fighters- it means more coverage, and more coverage can only be a good thing!”

With views for BAMMA peaking at 240,000, ia deal which suits both parties, with both BAMMA receiving extra exposure as well as ITV4 capturing rights to broadcast one of Europe’s leading promotions.

The event will take place on December 15th and a high attendance is expected with thousands wanting to see the best talent in the area in the cage.
