In only their second ever game the University of Sunderland Ultimate Frisbee team fell foul of a rampant travelling Durham University 2ndteam, who ran out 15-0 winners at Ashbrooke this afternoon.
After a bright start from the home team, Durham playing in Blue, took control and punished the Sunderland back line, seeing them storm into an early lead.
Durham continued their dominance up to half-time, as the first-half ended 13-0 to the visitors. Sunderland re-grouped during the interval, with both sides making changes to the line ups.
The second half started again brightly with the home team showing signs of what they could do in future matches. However, mistakes let Durham get back into the game.
With only five minutes gone into the second half Durham scored the vital points needed to claim victory over the home team.
This result leaves Sunderland still without a win or a point on the board after two tough encounters. Glimpses of quality from Sunderland will create hope for next week’s match.
