Goals from Jack Pounder, David Paul and Michael Bulmer ensured the Colliers got back to winning ways after last week’s draw with Esh Winning.
Manager Paul Frame made two changes from the Esh Winning game with debutant Dylan Elliott and Lewis Turnbull coming in for Dylan Nesbitt and Chris Pearson.
The Colliers started well and after numerous early chances, Paul burst into the penalty area before playing the ball square to Pounder who fired home.
It could have been two only a minute later when Elliott found room to shoot but the Hartlepool United loanee was denied by a fine save from Ryton’s Anthony Patterson.
Pounder could have collected his second as half-time approached but the former Durham City man couldn’t keep his effort down after a spell of free-flowing football from the Green Army.
Easington went into the break a goal to the good and looked to build on it in the second period.
A second did come 20 minutes into the second half. Pounder worked the ball out to Peter Jones and his low cross found Paul who made no mistake in slotting home.
Another fine save from Patterson prevented Aaron Croft’s back post header but there was nothing Sunderland loanee Patterson could do about Easington’s next effort. From the resulting corner, Paul’s effort was blocked on the line by Luke Watson but Bulmer was quickest to react to poke home.
It was a fine performance from the Colliers who will be looking to make it back-to-back wins at home to Whickham next week.
