Sunderland have been drawn to face Middlesbrough in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup, in what will be the second Tees-Wear derby of the season.

Robbie Stockdale took charge in the first game, which ended in a 1-0 defeat for Sunderland early in November.

Chris Coleman’s side will likely have to make changes with the game coming off the back of a busy Christmas schedule.

The Black Cats main priority will be avoiding the drop from the Sky Bet Championship, while Middlesbrough’s number one challenge will be gaining a play-off place so the cup may cause an untimely distraction.

Ties will take place on the weekend of 5-8 January 2018.
