Sunderland boxing prospect Josh Kelly has revealed on social media details of his next fight.

Kelly was scheduled to fight on the undercard of the David Haye vs Tony Bellew rematch on December 17.

But after Haye pulled out due to a bicep injury just four weeks prior to the anticipated rematch, Kelly would no longer fight on that bill.

Kelly’s promoter – Eddie Hearn, had hinted his man could feature on the undercard of the Katie Taylor vs Jessica McCaskill at York Hall on December 13, and Kelly has all but confirmed this on his social media.

A fan asked on Twitter whether or not there would be any news on his next fight in the coming days, to which the 23-year-old replied: “December 13, York Hall.”

Despite the disappointment of losing the chance to showcase his skills on a worldwide pay-per-view, Kelly will now fight on a packed out midweek show, where he could still make a good account of himself.

The man they call ‘Pretty Boy’ has now had four fights, with three knockouts – and has even headlined one of Matchroom Boxing’s ‘NXTGen’ show’s in Newcastle.

Kelly’s fight will be one of several to be moved to the midweek show and will likely have an announcement on an opponent in the coming days.
