Fans in the stands await the start of the match at Kingston Park.

Newcastle Thunder will play Championship club Dewsbury Rams in the fourth round of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup.

The games are scheduled to be played over the weekend of 18/19 March, with Thunder having to travel down to the Tetley’s Stadium.

Mick Mantelli’s side progressed in the prestigious competition after overturning a 16-0 deficit to beat Workington Town 18-16 at Kingston Park last Sunday.

They will be quietly optimistic of a good result considering their good start to the year, with wins over Hunslet RLFC and Workington Town in the League 1 Cup and Challenge Cup respectively.

Also, Dewsbury have lost their first four fixtures in the Championship up to now so they won’t be looking forward to welcoming the Thunder to West Yorkshire next month.

Newcastle’s league campaign gets underway this Sunday as they take on Workington at the Zebra Claims Stadium (CA14 2HG).
