Sunderland AFC have confirmed over 16,000 people have claimed their tickets for Sunderland U23s Premier League Youth International Cup final v FC Porto.

The final is to be played at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday 17th May. Entry is free and supporters have snapped up the opportunity to see their youngsters lift a trophy.

Sunderland edged past Norwich in the semi-final, winning 1-0 with a goal from Joel Asoro. Porto were also victorious in their semi-final 1-0, beating Premiership rivals Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

Sunderland U23 manager Elliot Dickman is relishing the opportunity, and speaking to safc.com said: “It will be the biggest crowd some of our lads have played in front of. That is great for their development.”
