The University of Sunderland mixed golf team face Hull 1sts this Wednesday in their BUCS Northern 2B league fixture.
Hull currently sit fourth in the table, and come into the game off the back of a 5-1 defeat to York 1sts in the BUCS Northern Conference Cup.
President Josh Carr explained it could potentially be another “testing” afternoon for the golfers, but is hopeful his side can show some “fight” in Wednesday’s game.
Carr said: “Hull are a very good side, and have had some good results in their league campaign this season.
“I think all of the lads know it is going to be another testing afternoon, because none of us really know if we will be able to field a full team.
“One positive though is that Kevin (Moran) returns this week, which means me, Will and him can lead the line and try to get some points on the board early.
“I want us to try and show some fight against Hull, because with only two games left this season, I want us to finish this season as strongly as possible.”
President Carr originally was unable to play in the last two games of the golfers season, but with games being rearranged things have changed.
“Since the last game BUCS changed the date of this fixture for some reason, which now means I am able to play.
“I’m very happy that this is the case because I want to try and help the lads get something out of our last two games, starting with Hull this Wednesday.
“However, I am unsure whether or not I can play the last game, but we’ll just see what happens and hopefully I can join the last for the game away to Durham 3rds.”
The golfers will travel to Ganstead Park Golf Club to play this fixture, with the first tee off time at 10.30am, Wednesday 1 March.
