Ryan Scope (Left) takes on Mickael Lebout at BAMMA 33

Lightweight contender Ryan Scope is full of confidence going into his headline bout at BAMMA 33.

Scope faces Frenchman Mickael Lebout on 15 December for the vacant Lightweight belt, in a bout many feel could be fight of the night. Scope returns to the cage after suffering his first defeat at the hands of Lewis Long back in February but is brimming with confidence ahead of his upcoming bout.

“(I am) really confident, I’ve had a really good camp the last few weeks. I’ve been doing a load of sparring with the guys from TFT, which is just full of talent and I’ve been sparring with boxers, kickboxers so I have the rounds in and I’m confident.”

It has been over 5 years since BAMMA last descended on Newcastle, but ‘Big Baby’  isn’t surprised they have returned.

“I think the North East has some of the best talent, when you think about all the people who have made it to the UFC from the North East and all the people on the way up like me, Lewis Monarch, who is also on the card, Phil (De Fries), Tony Mustard.

“It’s mint, I love it.”

Former Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers also appears on the BAMMA card. Chalmers has came under a lot of scrutiny since stepping into the cage however Scope has nothing but respect for him.

“I don’t mind it. At the end of the day, anyone who gets in the cage I respect. He admitted himself he went in there too early so credit where it is due.

“If he wins Friday night, then he proves himself. “
