Seaham RUFC are back in action this weekend where they will play host to eighth place Richmondshire in Durham/Northumberland division three.
After a two-week break, the Harbour will be looking to capitalise on their rest time and push for the fourth place spot in the table.
In the reverse fixture it was the hosts who came out on top with a 21-15 score line. Due to traffic issues on the way to the ground Seaham arrived merely five minutes before the kick off and were given little time to warm up due to lighting in a the later stages of the game being an issue.
In addition, the sides were forced into uncontested scrums from the beginning due to the absence of their preferred front row. Despite their handicap, the Harbour battled well for the game but could not find the strength to beat Richmondshire.
In Seaham’s last league game away to Yarm the visitors brought home the victory with a 5-26 scoreline. Four tries from Rob McGalspum, who also converted most of the other tries, and one each from prop Michael Flowers, Barry Morton and Mark Wilson were enough to seal Yarm’s fate.
Seaham have the home advantage in this tie and also come off the back of a victory and a two-week break so the game ahead should be an exciting one.
