The Mariners reflect on a great season and look ahead to their FA Vase Final against Cleethorpes Town on May 21.

In a season remember the club has gained national recognition following a 32 game winning run, having also wrapped up the Northern League title and promotion, along with two cup titles.

Speaking to players including ex-Premier League midfielder Julio Arca, along with joint managers Graham Fenton and Lee Picton, the excitement is building ahead of South Shields’ Wembley clash.

With a team of part-time players that train twice a week, staff are overwhelmed the club could reach such dizzy heights and receive so much attention – even from national press.

The final takes place on May 21 and will see over 10,000 Mariners fans descend on the capital for Non-League Finals day.

The event will not only see South Shields take on Cleethorpes Town, but also the showpiece FA Trophy which sees York City take on Macclesfield Town in front of what is promising to be a big crowd at the national stadium.
