The Sunderland FOL Monkwearmouth North team continued their perfect start to the season, making it three wins out of three, with a six-goal drubbing of Burnley FC SYT.

Lewis Charlton and a Nathan Dorkin double before the break set up a comfortable second half for Sunderland.

Harry Rawlinson scored a spectacular overhead kick before late goals from Sam Overal and Bradley Chisolm topped a dominant performance.

Charlton took the lead for Sunderland after three minutes, slotting home from inside the box after Burnley failed to clear their lines.

Derby were the makings of their own downfall for the second goal after Charlton raced onto a poor backpass before setting up Dorkin.

Sunderland ended the first half in style after Donkin found a second with a back-post finish in added time.

The goal of the game came courtesy of Rawlinson who first flicked the ball up before slamming it into the net with a bicycle kick.

Overal made it 4-0 with ten minutes to go with a narrow finish after dispossessing the defender.

Chisolm scored the final goal of the game after 88 minutes, dinking the outrushing goalkeeper with a brave header.

Head coach Michael Havelock was delighted with his team’s performance, describing their form so far, this season as ‘excellent’ and was confident it can continue.
