Team Sunderland Predators Women's VolleyballSunderland City Predators women’s volleyball team face Nottingham Rockets in their penultimate league match, as they continue their fight towards a play-off place.

After a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Darkstar Derbyshire last week, it leaves Sunderland in fourth place, four points behind second placed Manchester Marvels.

However, a win against bottom of the league Nottingham on Saturday, followed by victory against the Marvels in the final game of the league season at Manchester next week, and the Predators will fancy their chances of securing a play-off spot.

Results will need to go heavily in their favour but the squad has refused to give up this season with numerous five-set victories and a National Shield cup triumph.

Promotion would be a fantastic achievement from the Wearsiders, as they have settled comfortably in Division 2 North after gaining promotion from Division 3 North last year.

With two games left, Sunderland will be looking towards two wins and possible back-to-back promotions.

Sunderland face Nottingham at Sunderland University on Saturday April 16, with kick-off at 11.30am.
