Nineteen teams from the University of Sunderland return to action as today as they start their BUCS seasons.

A week on from defeat in the Clash of the Minsters against York St John, Sunderland’s students kick off their league campaigns in the British University & Colleges Sport divisions this afternoon.

First up the men’s Tennis 1st team travel to Sheffield Hallam 2nds for a 12PM start, before the men’s Badminton 1sts begin away to York 3rd and the Netball 2nds travel to Sheffield 4ths, both at 1PM.

Sunderland’s men’s Football 1sts travel to Durham 2nds, the men’s Football 3rds travel to Sheffield Hallam 4ths and the women’s 1sts host Sheffield 2nds – all 1PM kick offs –  while the men’s 2nd team face Leeds Trinity 2nds away at 3PM.

Kicking off at 2PM is the men’s Rugby 1sts –  who travel to Sheffield 3rds – women’s Badminton 1sts away to York St John 1sts, while the men’s Hockey and women’s Volleyball sides host York 3rds and Leeds Beckett 1sts respectively.

Sunderland’s Netball teams will be looking to bounce back from three defeats to York St John last week

The action continues to come thick and fast as the afternoon goes on, with both the Netball 1st and 3rd teams tipping off at 3PM away to Sheffield 3rds and Bradford 2nds respectively, before men’s Volleyball play host to Leeds Beckett 1sts and men’s Table Tennis travel to Durham 2nds at 4PM.

Women’s Hockey travel to face Bradford 1sts for a 5:45PM start and the Sunderland women’s Basketball team tip-off away to York St John 1sts at 6PM before two back-to-back games in CitySpace close out the day.

First up the men’s Basketball 2nd team host Leeds Trinity 1sts at 6PM, before the men’s Basketball 1st team close the days action against Varsity rivals Teesside 1sts.
