Sunderland FoL Scholars continued their unbeaten league run after a strong 5-0 win over Derby C.T.

First-half goals from Jak Hanson and Harry Thompson gave Sunderland a comfortable lead before Alex Ramshaw, Max Sansom and Josh King sealed the victory.

The win extends Sunderland’s unbeaten run to four matches after after winning their opening three matches.

The hosts almost fell behind in the 3rd minute after a dipping strike curled onto the top of the crossbar.

Sunderland goalkeeper Ross Cunningham was forced in action, tipping a long range strike over the bar.

The Black Cats took the lead in the 24th minute as Hanson capitalised on poor defending from a corner to smash his shot into the roof of the net.

Hanson turned provider in the 32nd minute as the forward rounded the keeper before unselfishly teeing up Thompson who made no mistake.

In the second half, Sunderland showed their dominance as substitute Ramshaw grabbed the third, scoring from close range in the 51st minute.

Six minutes later, Sansom also came off the bench to get onto the scoresheet with a composed finish following a splendid through ball from Josh King.

King managed to complete the rout as Codie Howe cleverly nodded a header via a free-kick, into the path of King, who slotted into an empty net.
