Mark Robinson scored the 90th-minute equaliser for Sunderland West End as their winning streak came to an end in a 3-3 draw against Redcar Athletic at Ford Quarry.

The game started explosively as the visitors took the lead in the first minute when Stuart Browne headed the ball into the back of Graham Pickering’s net.

West End responded in a matter of minutes when Nath Burrell scored with his head after anticipating the free-kick from Robert Hall.

It was 1-1 at the break, but the goals just kept coming in the second half. In the 49th minute, Hall scored after a great delivery from Bryan Norton to give the home side the lead.

Ten minutes later, Redcar equalised thanks to Sam Webster and then were ahead again in the 64th minute when the substitute Adam Preston scored.

But it wasn’t to be for the visitors who probably thought they had won the game. Robinson headed the ball past the powerless goalkeeper just a few seconds before the referee’s final whistle to earn his side a draw after seven games of victories prior today.

With this result, West End climbed one place up the Wearside Football League table and are now fourth with 35 points while Redcar is on third place and have four points more than Sunderland’s team.

Next up for Anthony Nelson’s team is a match against Windscale next Saturday at 2 pm in the League while Redcar have their derby against Cleator Moor Celtic who is currently at the top of the Division.
