The Wearside League had a full and thrilling midweek schedule last night, with 49 goals scored in 10 games.

Among the big scores, Spennymoor Town Reserves thrashed Horden CW 6-2, league leaders Stockton Town beat Boldon CA 5-0, and Gateshead Leam Rangers edged a five-goal thriller at Prudhoe Town.wearside-league

Stockton remain top of the league on goal difference, with Whitehaven, Silksworth Colliery Welfare and Easington Colliery all on 15 points. Easington and Stockton have played a game less.

On Wednesday night, Silksworth beat league strugglers Jarrow 1-0, with Liam Gill scoring the only goal. Gill has now scored eight this season, making him the second top goalscorer in the league.

Jarrow are no longer bottom, though, with Wolviston replacing them after a 4-2 defeat at home to Seaton Carew.

Whitehaven tavelled to Ashbrooke Belford House and won 4-2, while Easington beat Harton and Westoe CW 5-2.

Sunderland West End continue to keep in tow with the chasing pack, beating Annfield Plain 4-2 at home.

Elsewhere, Cleator Moor Celtic beat Redcar Athletic 2-1, and Hartlepool FC and Richmond Town drew 1-1.
