Bedlington darts ace Chris Dobey will face the in-form Mensur Suljovic tonight, in the first round of the World Series event in Glasgow.

Dobey qualified for the the finale event earlier last month, and will face tough opposition in Suljovic.

The Austrian has enjoyed a successful 2017 so far, climbing to number 7 in the world and completing a break through win at the Champions League of darts.

Dobey told SportsByte that it was “a tough draw” in the first round, but he is happy to be back on the “big stage.”

“Its a very tough draw for myself, I just have to stay focused on the night and play my own game,” he said.

“I can’t wait to be back on the big stage, it doesn’t matter who I come up against I give it my all.”

The World Series final event in Glasgow is a chance for players to earn vital prize money with the Grand Slam of Darts and World Championships looming large.

With the majority of top players all in action this weekend, Dobey admitted it will be a challenge – but one that he is relishing.

“I always seem to up my game against the best players, I don’t know why because I should be the same against anyone.

“I’m very much looking forward to this one though, and I can’t wait for Friday night to come around.”
