Chris Dobey will face his mentor Gary Anderson in the second round of the World Series in Glasgow, he defeated Mensur Suljovic 6-3 in round one. 

The North East darts ace trailed early on in the match, with Suljovic producing some excellent combination shots to race into a 3-0 lead.

Dobey replied with a hold of throw and then a maximum in the fifth leg, which saw him back on throw at the interval – trailing 3-2.

After the break the Englishman put the Austrian to the sword with a powerful hold of throw, and then taking advantage of missed darts from Suljovic to break in the very next leg.

With the score at 4-3, Hollywood held strong and pinned double ten at the first time of asking to go within one leg of the second round.

The final leg was tense from both darts players, and as Suljovic missed two at a double, Dobey swooped in and sealed the match with double twenty – winning six legs on the spin.

The Bedlington man hit four 180s and finished with 60 percent on his doubles, which will give him huge confidence heading into Saturdays clash with Anderson.
