England’s Ben Stokes during day one of the Specsavers Third Test match at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

The 27-year-old has played his whole career with the county and has signed an extension to his contract, keeping him with Durham until 2021.

He made his debut for Durham during the 2009 season and received his first senior England cap less than two years later.

With the World Cup and Ashes Series to come in the Summer, it is not expected that Stokes will feature much for the North East County.

Stokes is currently ranked fourth in the ICC all-rounder rankings with West Indian Jason Holder first.

The England star is set to join up with the Rajasthan Royals for the Indian Premier League who he was retained by for the 2019 season after signing for a huge initial fee of £1.38 million.
