Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon (centre) battles for the ball with Sunderland’s Joel Asoro (left) and Paddy McNair during the Sky Bet Championship match at Craven Cottage, London.

Sunderland fans are pondering the future of the club after back to back relegations but recently the young core has shone through. Asoro at the age just 19 has become a main payer for the first team this season and fans want him to stay.

Last night on Instagram the Swede started a live video in which fans flooded with questions about his future at the club.

Eventually one of his friends asks him the question about if he’s staying. The teenager responds but it’s quite unclear what his response is, although his friend then responds by saying “I can confirm he will stay”.

This season the winger/striker has scored 3 times in 26 appearances impressing more with regular appearances even earning himself young player of the year.

Asoro’s exposure to the first team has meant interested clubs have been able to take a closer look at the talented Sweden U21 international.

In 2018 he has been linked to Premier League clubs and I wouldn’t be surprised if more clubs are looking at him now after his impressive goal against Fulham two weeks ago.
