American Football teams in the North East are hoping to unearth the next Tom Brady as they search for new talent.

The sport grew in popularity in the UK during the 1980’s when Channel 4 began to cover the NFL.

This popularity increased further when the NFL introduced the International Series, with a number of regular season games played on English soil each year.

Sunderland Spartans Head Coach Pete Nichol wants to encourage people to “give it a go” in the North East through free taster sessions.
