Seaham Red Star joint-manager Chris McCabe says he is hoping to add ‘one maybe two’ players to his squad in time for tomorrow’s clash away at Guisborough.

McCabe has been hit with a long injury list over the last few weeks, and has recently signed striker Bailey Prudhoe and attacking midfielder Dylan McGlade as a result.

Both players scored on their debuts for the Star, with McGlade being Seaham’s only goalscorer in the 1-1 draw at home to Ashington last week.

McCabe said of McGlade after last week’s performance:  “When we did give him the ball, he carved them open and he scored.

“You can just tell the lad has got real quality, and he’ll be a real asset for us.

“I’m pretty happy that he’s chose to come on loan to us, he’s just a top top player.”

Tomorrow’s opponents Guisborough sit in 15th, but will pose a challenge for Seaham as they’re unbeaten in their last five games.

Last time out the Priorymen won 2-1 at home to Bishop Auckland, with Steve Roberts scoring both goals.

“It’s a tricky game, Guisborough are a good side,” McCabe said.

“I think they had a slow start to the season, but they’ve improved massively and it’s always a tough place to go down there and pick up points.”

Seaham will be without top-scorer Liam McBryde along with other long-term absentees Craig Lynch, Lee Hetherington and Nicholas Kane.

Thomas Scott missed last week’s game through injury and faces a late fitness test, but Ash Davis will return to the side after a few weeks out.
