Seaham Red Star manager Chris McCabe has called on his side to ‘turn up with the right attitude’ in order to avoid an upset in tomorrow’s Ebac Northern League Cup clash at Second DIvision Darlington Railway Athletic tomorrow evening.

McCabe’s side go into tomorrow’s cup tie firm favourites, sitting 9th in Division 1, but with mixed form as they’ve picked up two wins and two defeats in their last five games.

Darlington RA on the other hand sit 20th in Division 2 and are without a win in their last five games. They come into tomorrow’s game following a 2-1 defeat at home to Chester-Le-Street on Saturday.

Speaking ahead of the game McCabe said: “It’s a massive game, every game is a big game we play.

“The mentality has got to be right on Wednesday when we turn up there just because they’re in the league below.”

Seaham lost 3-0 to Jarrow Roofing, who sit 19th in Division 1, in their last game on Friday and McCabe insists that the same will happen tomorrow if his players take the same approach.

Following Friday’s defeat McCabe said: “We’ve got to turn up with the right attitude, and unfortunately that wasn’t the case tonight.

“We turned up and thought we could win and we got beat three nil so if we turn up with that sort of mind-set on Wednesday, the same will happen.”
