Sheffield came back from the brink as they sealed back to back victories over Sunderland 1sts.

Sunderland dominated the early quarters as they extended the lead to 11 points, Sunderland continued to be the better side in the third but late on in the third Sheffield fought back.

The hosts only added six points in fourth as Sheffield scored a huge 19 in the fourth period to seal the comeback.

Sheffield got off to a good start and took a seven four lead midway through the first quarter. Sunderland with only three minutes left in the first had turned it round to lead 12-9.

The quarter ended 12-9 as Sunderland had really picked up the pace following a slow start. 13 was running the show, she top-scored for the home side and the whole offence ran through her.

Sunderland extended their lead to seven with a deep two pointer from 14. The Sunderland team were much improved from last week’s cup defeat to Sheffield.

Midway through the second period Sunderland regained a seven point lead and led 22-15.

Number seven made a great run to the basket for Sheffield as they looked to cut the 8 point deficit late in the second.

13 ran from coast to coast to score a layup, Sunderland upped the lead to 13 as they made the scores 37-24.

The number six for Sunderland was giving the home side some big offensive plays, she extended the lead to 41-26 with two quick two pointers.

Four scored a huge three at the start of the fourth as she cut the Sunderland lead to two points. The fourth quarter was back and forth as Sheffield looked to get in the lead.

Number six for scored with five minutes left to get Sheffield back in the lead for the first time since early on in the first quarter.

The game was running away from Sunderland as Sheffield extended their lead to six points and lead 53-49.

Four was running the fourth quarter and scored a deep two to make it 57-49 with less than a minute to play.
