University of Sunderland Badminton’s Sarttra “Thee” Klaiyang reflected on his playing style after Team Sunderland drew 4-4 with Teeside University..

On November 28th, Sunderland’s second team grabbed a draw against visiting Teesside’s first team at City Space.

In the fixture which ended 4-4, Thee pocketed two wins, against Teesside’s Hassha and Michael, in singles matches.

It was his first time playing in singles competition and he said: “Actually I prefer playing in doubles. I like to play with someone to cover me.”

“You need to be fit enough to play in singles, because no one is there to cover you. That’s why I prefer to play in doubles.”

He added: “But if I train, I can play in singles.”
