It was men against boys in tonight’s BUCS fixture as Durham steamrolled 120-26 in their own house, a staggering 94-point defeat for the Wearsiders.

Durham were buoyed by the performance of the number nine, who put up an astounding 34 points and was an absolute terror from the free throw line.

Ironically, it was Sunderland who took the lead early on, getting the first two baskets of the game before the onslaught began.

The 2nd quarter began 8-21 in Durham’s favour and ended 10-50, which summarises the dominance shown by the team in purple.

The humiliation in the second quarter clearly got to the Wearsiders, as their number 8 started a scuffle with a Durham player after feeling aggrieved at a foul call.

Sunderland will have to improve their 3-point shooting in future if they want to avoid another dismantling like they received tonight, as they only managed 1 all game compared to Durham’s 10.
