A spirited performance from Sunderland saw them ultimately beaten by top of the table Leeds.

Sunderland knew that they would be in for a hard encounter when Leeds came to town, with Leeds top of the league and Sunderland bottom respectfully.

The first quarter was a highly contested affair with the teams trying there utmost to take an advantage into the break, but the teams couldn’t be separated after the first 15 minutes as the teams drew at 7-7.

Sunderland who were without a single substitute for the game powered on but eventually Leeds started to take over when they introduced fresh legs soon into the second quarter, Leeds started to pull away from Sunderland ending the second quarter with a lead of 11 points.

Leeds dominance continued to show when they took command of the game into the 3rd quarter, Sunderland who never gave up and fought as much as they could but it was no match for Leeds’s strong side.

as the game drew on into the final stages, Leeds scored 12 consecutive points meaning no way back for Sunderland and the game ended 53-23 in favour of the opposition.
