Ashbrooke Belford House rounded off their season with an away win to Sunderland West End.

An eight goal thriller Ashbrooke saw goals from James Fairley, Dominic Laws, Mark Green and substitute Kevin Humble.

FootballSunderland West End could only find two goals from Mark Catcheside however.

Ashbrooke went into the game with a long list of injured players and their worries were further added to when Shaun Petch and Marc Egglestone were injured in the warm up.

But that did not stop Ashbrooke from grabbing the game with both hands and winning their last game of the season.

“The opposition were a top side. We have played them twice already this season where they beat us in the cup 3-1 and then we beat them 3-1 in the league,” said Asa Dobbing, Ashbrooke Belford House head coach.

“Obviously Saturday was the icing on the cake but we can’t take anything away from West End. They have had a brilliant season but unfortunately for them they caught us in red hot from.

“The whole team played well but I think the stand out players were 18-year-old Dominic Laws and James Fairley who scored three from midfield.”
