Stockton Town won the battle of the league leaders in the Wearside League with a 3-0 win over Easington Colliery last night.

Kallum Hannah scored two for Stockton in a win that sees them go three points clear of Whitehaven at the top.

Meanwhile, Silksworth have moved up to third in the league – having played a game extra – after a thumping 7-0 win over Gateshead Leam Rangers, where Liam Gill notched his second hat-trick of the campaign.


Cleator Moor will have been disappointed to have dropped points at home to Annfield Plain, as they are now two points behind the leading pack, while Redcar Athletic made up some ground with a 6-3 win away at Seaton Carew.

A total of 38 goals were scored in eight games, with Wolviston putting four past Richmond Town with one in reply while Hartlepool and Boldon CA shared the spoils in a six-goal thriller.

Elsewhere, Spennymoor Town Reserves beat Ashbrooke Belford House 3-1, Horden CW edged out Harton and Westoe and Prudhoe Town beat Sunderland West End 2-1.
