North East football struggled this weekend with both SSE Women’s FA Cup fixtures being postponed and just one game going ahead in the Northern League.

Sunderland Ladies had been due to face Manchester City Ladies, with Durham Women playing Everton Ladies, but both games fell fowl to the snow on Sunday.

The games have been rearranged for Sunday 25, with a 12.30 kick off at Durham’s New Ferens Park and a 2pm kick off for Sunderland at Mariners Park.

Elsewhere, the all Northern League FA Vase semi-final also survived the weather.

Marske’s home fixture against Stockton Town was moved to Stockton due to a waterlogged pitch and it was Stockton who took the advantage going in to the second leg with a 2-0 win.

In the only Northern League game to survive the weather Billingham Town scored what looked to be a late winner, before Darlington Railway Athletic scored a quickfire double in the last minute to win 2-1 at Bedford Terrace.
