Match Preview – Macclesfield vs Spennymoor Town FC

Spennymoor Town travel down to Macclesfield on Saturday for a National League North fixture as they look to strengthen their position in the table.

While results have been mixed in recent weeks, Spennymoor remain a competitive side and have picked up important points away from home this season and currently sit in 11th, 12 points behind the hosts who sit in 4th.

Recent form has seen them win two of their last five games, including a big 3-1 win over Kidderminster Harriers at The Brewery Field, alongside an all important 1-1 draw against local rivals South Shields.

The reverse fixture between Spennymoor and Macclesfield saw a goalless draw back in August.

The hosts have enjoyed their first season in the National League North and will be hoping to keep on pushing this weekend for an excellent finish to the campaign.

But, Macclesfield will want to bounce back from their painful 4-1 defeat against South Shields last time out.

With this fixture being the final away game of the season for Spennymoor, the club have encouraged fans to attend in fancy dress, with a superhero theme adding to the occasion.
