Hebburn Town Manager Mark Elliot Reflects on 6-2 Win.
Mark Elliot will have had plenty to be happy about on Sunday as he watched his Hebburn Town team dismantle Newton Aycliffe 6-2 on the road.
Goals from 5 different players ensured a dominant victory for the bees.
“On a different day we probably could’ve scored double figures” said the Hebburn manager.
“We’ve got a lot, attacking wise, we’ve got a very good group of players, and I’ve got some good options and some difficult decisions for the next game!”
Despite dominating play in the first half, Hebburn only managed a 2-1 lead at halftime. It was the second half where they really started to blow away their opponents, scoring four goals.
“I just said keep going, the goals will come. In the first half, we had a lot of chances but the keeper was making some outstanding saves. It just wasn’t going our way. The attitude was brilliant, and like I said, the mentality of just keep going and going and going. I’m over the moon for the lasses.”
