Where will England and Scotland play their group games?
The EUROS are only a month away. They will be played in 10 different cities in Germany. But in which of these stadiums and against whom will the Scottish and English national teams play?
Munich Football Arena
Munich is the third largest city in Germany and is known worldwide for the traditional Oktoberfest. The football stadium is normally home to FC Bayern and has a capacity of 60,026. This is where Scotland will play their opening game against Germany.
Cologne Stadium
Located on the Rhine, Cologne is famous for its landmark Cologne Cathedral. The stadium in Cologne has a capacity of 46,922 spectators and is the home ground of FC Köln. It will host Scotland against Switzerland on matchday two and England against Slovenia on matchday three.
Stuttgart Arena
Stuttgart is not only home to VfB Stuttgart but also to world-famous car manufacturers Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. The arena has space for 50,998 spectators. This is where Scotland will play the final matchday of the group stage against Hungary.
Arena Auf Schalke
The Ruhr region is known for coal mining and the working-class mentality of its people. Gelsenkirchen is one of the poorest cities in Germany and home to the fallen Bundesliga club Schalke 04. The Arena auf Schalke has a capacity of 49,471 and this is where England will play their first group game against Serbia.
Frankfurt Arena
Frankfurt is known for its green sauce and its skyline, which is also known as ‘Mainhattan’. Eintracht from Frankfurt have repeatedly shown their European credentials in recent years, including winning the European League. The stadium has 48,057 seats and this is where England will play their second group match against Denmark.
Other venues during the European Championship will be Leipzig Stadium, BVB Dortmund Stadium, Düsseldorf Arena, the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg and the Olympiastadion in Berlin. The venue for the final match will be the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
