Fury vs Usyk rematch announced: ‘The Gypsy King’ looks for redemption

Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk will get their highly anticipated rematch as ‘The Gypsy King’ will look to regain his titles that he lost in their bout two weeks ago.

Fury and his team will feel hard done by the judges decision to award Usyk the victory via split decision making the Ukrainian the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

Fury was in control for the majority of that fight but Usyk slowly crawled his way back into the fight leaving ‘The Gypsy King’ squandering around the ring in the ninth round as he struggled to gather his senses leading to Fury making a standing count.

When and where is the rematch?

Fury and Usyk both signed an agreement before the first fight that there would be a rematch regardless of the outcome and promoter Frank Warren says both Fury and Usyk are keen for another 12 rounds in the ring.

“Both fighters said they want it we’ll go from there.”

Just like the first fight, the rematch is scheduled for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia December 21st 2024 and with both fighters having plenty of time to prepare themselves, it promises to be a showstopper.
