Match Report: Newcastle United 3-1 Brighton & Hove Albion
Newcastle United returned to winning ways after goals from William Osula, Dan Burn and Harvey Barnes sealed a 3-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.
Newcastle ended a five-match winless run, while Brighton missed out on the opportunity to extend their positive league position.
Osula gave Eddie Howe’s side the lead after 12 minutes, when brilliant work from Jacob Murphy saw him take the ball around the goalkeeper, allowing Osula to head into an empty net.
13 minutes later, Burn doubled the lead with a header after Bruno Guimaraes’ corner perfectly found the Newcastle defender.
Brighton started the second half strong and got their reward on the hour mark, as a well-worked team goal was finished off calmly by Jack Hinshelwood.
Massive chances from both sides followed as Yankuba Minteh and Yoane Wissa both missed the target from close range.
In the final minute of the game, it was Newcastle who found a third, when Harvey Barnes sealed the victory after a slip from Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke gave them three points and their first Premier League win in seven weeks.
