Preview: Premier League Darts Night 15 – Birmingham

The Premier League of Darts heads to Birmingham for the penultimate night of the regular season, as Luke Littler looks to make Premier League history.

Match 1: Josh Rock vs Gian van Veen

van Veen is in desperate need of points and takes on bottom-of-the-table Rock.

Rocky can no longer qualify for a spot at the O2 after his quarter-final defeat in Leeds.

The world #3 suffered a last-leg decider defeat to Stephen Bunting and sits sixth three points off fourth.

My prediction: Rock 6-4 van Veen

Match 2: Gerwyn Price vs Michael van Gerwen

In the most important tie of the night, third-placed Price takes on fifth-placed van Gerwen, with just three points splitting the pair.

Price has only won one of his last five quarter-finals and could be at risk of dropping out of the top four this week.

The Welshman has won both of their Premier League meetings so far this campaign.

My prediction: Price 6-5 van Gerwen

Match 3: Luke Humphries vs Stephen Bunting

Humphries will take on the Bullet in a repeat of the Leeds semi-final, which Cool Hand narrowly won 6-5.

The world #2 now obtains fourth spot, but with van Gerwen facing Price, Humphries really needs a win himself.

The Play-Off race is still on for Bunting, but he’d need to win both nights and rely on other results.

My prediction: Humphries 6-4 Bunting

Match 4: Jonny Clayton vs Luke Littler

In the battle of first and second, Clayton takes on Littler in the final first round ties.

The Nuke has the chance of breaking his own record of six nightly wins in a campaign, by making it seven.

The World #1 overcame the Ferret in last week’s semi-final and currently has a five-point lead on the Welshman.

My prediction: Clayton 4-6 Littler
