Seaham Red Star 2-0 Alnwick Town: Red Star dominate in sixth straight victory
Seaham Red Star eased aside playoff rivals Alnwick Town with a 2-0 victory at The Alexandra Steakhouse Stadium on Saturday’s Non-League Day.

A goal either side of half-time from Ryan O’Connor and Jack Leonard did the job for The Star, with a late Joshua Walker red card being the final nail in the coffin for the Northumbrians.
Seaham controlled a large majority of the game, repeatedly putting Alnwick ‘keeper Aaron Carr under pressure with dangerous deliveries. Kai Charlton saw a header saved from close range before Dan Wilds’ effort was pushed onto the crossbar.
Red Star finally got their reward though, when Ryan O’Connor’s looping header from distance found the top corner in the last act of the half.
Mark Collingwood’s men started from where they left off, dominating the midfield and creating chances.
Alwnick’s left back soon felled his man inside the penalty area, giving Seaham the perfect opportunity to double their lead.
Jack Leonard obliged, slotting the ball into the bottom left corner and settling everyone’s nerves.

Alnwick Town didn’t give up and felt as though they should’ve had a penalty of their own, but Seaham shut up shop and preserved their two-goal lead.
Things went from bad to worse for the visitors in the closing stages as Joshua Walker was given his marching orders for pulling down James McGeorge after a ball over the defence.
Seaham claimed their sixth win in a row and sit 5th in Northern League Division Two.
