Penshaw Catholic Club [CC] managed to put five goals past Farringdon Detached the Alexandra [DA] which allowed them to further the distance between second place FC Romano’s by a comfortable four points.

The first goal came from Stanness in the 30th minute to send Penshaw CC 1-0 up, being the only goal in the first half.

Then after half-time Farringdon DA player Halboos scored in the 54th minute to equalise however Muir scored a minute later before Price made it 3-1.

Only just another three minutes later Taylor scored, Penshaw CC had their last goal when Tindle scored in the 74th minute – Farringdon DA would manage a consolation goal from Langton in the 84th minute making the final score 5-2.

As the game kicked off Farringdon DA were immediate aggressors which although proved unsuccessful throughout a majority of the game as Penshaw CC were eventually able to launch a counter attack making the score 1-0

As the vastly more eventful second half kicked off, Penshaw CC were immediate attackers seeing them net three goals within five minutes from Price, Muir and Taylor respectively, two of those goals being assisted by Dodd, despite Halboos also scoring Farringdon’s first goal.

Although there were no fouls made in this game it doesn’t mean it was void of any altercation as a group of Farringdon DA players were seen visibly frustrated in the later half just before Tindle scored to make it 5-1 in the 74th minute.

Of course in the dying embers of the match Farringdon’s pressure eventually made its way through but it came too late seeing a consolation goal from Langton in the 84th minute.

When the game ended Penshaw CC player Kieran Russell picked up the man of the match award. The victory further cementing Penshaw CC at the top of the division four table.
