Team Sunderland Athlete Park wins Silver at British Championships
Cameron Park continued his pursuit for selection for this year’s World Taekwondo Championships with a silver medal at this weekend’s British International Open Championships.
The 22-year-old competed in the Team, Pair and Individual Poomsae at the championships held at the University of East London.
The team event saw Cameron pick up a silver medal while he finished 9th and 10th in the pairs and individual respectively.
The event acts as one of the selection events for this summer’s World Championships in Denmark where Cameron remains hopeful of competing.
“I’ve been working hard in CitySpace with Chris (Curtis) in our strength & conditioning sessions and I can feel the benefits.”
Park is next in action this weekend in a minor meeting in Lanarkshire where he’s hopeful of victory.
“It’ll be good to spend more time on the floor ahead of the next training camp in Manchester.”
Cameron is supported by Team Sunderland’s Elite Athlete Scheme and trains regularly in their CitySpace facility.
