Middlesbrough vs Hull City Match Preview

Injury-hit Middlesbrough will be hoping to stay in the race for the play-offs as they look to bounce back from two consecutive losses against 8th place Hull City.

Middlesbrough would’ve been hoping to have some players back in time for the Wednesday night game but it appears unlikely with manager Michael Carrick saying: “I don’t really think we’ll have any others back though. I think we’ll continue as we are, which is fine. The team we had out on the pitch on Saturday was a good team.”

Boro will be boosted by the return of Isaiah Jones and Anfernee Dijksteel who will return from suspension, this will be a major boost to Carrick with his options being very limited in recent games.

Hull also have fresh injury worries with star man Jaden Philogene, whose amazing form has helped get Hull to 8th place in the league, will be missing with it being unlikely that he will return until 2024.

Both Boro and Hull are on a poor run of form as both have 2 wins from their last five so both managers will be desperate to try and get their sides back on track in order to assert themselves back into the play off places.

A win for Hull would put them level with 6th place Sunderland but will likely see them stay below them unless there is a nine goal win for them whilst a Boro win would put them three points off Sunderland.
