Match report: Whickham Fc 2-2 Seaham Red Star
The LangJacks were back at home during the week as they were held to a 2-2 draw against Seaham Red Star. Another two goals from the man on fire, Scott Robson were enough to get a point.
Whickham came into the game off the back of a 4-0 defeat to Redacr away from home and were looking to put things right back at the Glebe.
After a poor opening to the first half, Whickham found themselves a goal down in the opening 10 minutes following a mix-up at the back from goalkeeper Dan Lister who allowed Seaham striker Brad Chisolm in to slide into an empty goal.
Chances dried up after the opener until Scott Robson fired past the keeper in the 34th minute to draw level with an emphatic finish.
The second half started in a similar fashion to the first with both teams struggling to get a hold of the game with little chances on offer.
In the 60th minute, Whickham found themselves behind again following a set piece that caused danger in the penalty area, giving Lewis Rutherford the chance to prod home from close range to put the visitors back in front.
However, in the 70th minute, Whickham were back level for the second time after a quick counter. Robson was there again to head superbly past the Seaham keeper to take his total to 44 goals for the season.
Late chances came for Seaham to grab the winner but a last ditch tackle from Terry Galbraith and a 1 on 1 save from Dan lister secured a point for Whickham.
