Anthony Gordon reaches Newcastle United milestone
Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon has become the third ever Newcastle player to hit double figures for both goals and assists in a single campaign.
Gordon now has 10 goals and 10 assists in the Premier League this season and is the first to do so since midfielder Ruel Fox in 1994-95.
He has also won his side six penalties, three more than any other player in the Premier League. However, this contributes towards his assist tally.
The English winger has had a season to remember. He made his Champions League debut at the San Siro Stadium in Milan and has put in some standout performances in an injury plagued Newcastle United side.
According to Sofascore he has averaged a goal every 272 minutes- just over 3 games. He has started 32 games in the league this season and has averaged 82 minutes each game.
His form also earned him a national call up and he made his England debut at Wembley against Brazil in March.
The winger’s right footed effort against Tottenham saw him climb to 10 goals whilst his 10th assist came 3 weeks later against Burnley when he played teammate Bruno Guimaraes in on goal.
With 3 games remaining this season, Gordon won’t beat Andrew Cole’s 34 goals and 13 assists in 1993-94 but he needs 1 goal and 2 assists to better Ruel Fox’s 10 goals and 11 assists in 1994-95.
