Benfield will be hoping to make it two wins from two after an impressive showing last Saturday gave Andrew Ferguson his first win as the new boss for the Lions.
Newcastle Benfield sit 17th in the league, but beating a Marske United side who currently sit in the play-offs of Division One will breed a lot of confidence ahead of tonight’s outing.
Last time out…
The Lions secured a dominant win in Fergie’s first game in the hotseat against highfliers Marske United. Goals from in-form Jakub Zych, Kyle Fyatt and Ryan Smith secured the three points in an impressive display against fourth placed opposition.
Previous meeting…
The two sides last met in last season’s league campaign. Benfield travelled to the Alexandra Steakhouse Stadium and ran out 1-0 victors in a tight affair, Noah Millington getting the winner.
Where the sides stand…
Seaham sit 21st in the table, coming off a narrow defeat to Guisborough Town on the weekend, The Star will be eager to bounce back mid-week under the lights.
Benfield find themselves 17th with multiple games in hand on the teams around them. Fergie’s side will look to build on their newfound form come the starting whistle tonight.
Fullers’ thoughts…
Following Saturday’s victory, first team coach, Ray Fuller, had this to say looking onto tonight:
“It will be a totally different game, different opposition, every game is tough in this league. There are no easy games at this level, and you’ve got to earn the games.”
