Birmingham City Women 0-2 Newcastle United Women
Newcastle United Women earned a 2-0 victory against top of the league Birmingham City Women, breaking the blues’ three game winning streak in the Women’s Championship.

Newcastle went into the game missing captain Amber Keegan Stobbs, who received a red card in the teams’ 3-3 draw against Charlton Athletic two weekends prior.
Birmingham had won their past three games in the league, and were sat at the top of the table.
In the 11th minute, Magpies midfielder Beth Lumsden dribbled to the corner of the box and crossed it over to Hayles, who fired into the bottom left of the goal putting Newcastle ahead.
Blues defenders Neve Grace Herron and Rebecca McKenna both were on the receiving end of yellow cards, happening within a time-space of five minutes in the 18th and 23rd minute.

After 20 minutes of Birmingham pressure, Newcastle managed to hold onto a precious clean sheet moving them into 4th place in the Championship table.
Newcastle will be looking to keep up their strong performances, with their next match being against Bristol City.
