Newcastle Benfield Vs Penrith match preview

Newcastle Benfield face Penrith at the MKM stadium tomorrow afternoon.

Last time out…

Benfield extended their unbeaten run to four games as they drew 1-1 with Birtley Town with Jack Watson netting his first for the club. That result saw Benfield remain in 13th place on 31 points.

Previous meeting…

The two sides have already met this season. Penrith came out 5-2 winners at Frenchfield Park, Kyle Fryatt and Brad Varga got on the scoresheet for Benfield. Andy Ferguson and his side will be looking to overturn that result and collect the three points in tomorrow’s game.

Where the sides sit…

The Lions are sat 13th in the league after collecting 10 points from a possible 12 and are gaining momentum at the moment. The Bonny Blues are placed just one below in 14th on 30 points and will be looking to move above Benfield after losing at home to North Shields last time out.

Leo’s Pre-match predictions…

“With both sides being so close to one another in the table, it will be a tightly fought contest that could go either way. Penrith will want to get back on track after a disappointing home defeat last weekend and will have confidence due to the previous meeting between the sides.

However, Benfield haven’t lost at home since late September and under Ferguson they have looked much improved. I think the score will be 2-0 to Newcastle Benfield in a cagey affair.”
