Tow Law Town 1-5 Newcastle Benfield
Newcastle Benfield scored five to make it five games unbeaten as they collected all three points away at Tow Law Town.
Five minutes into the game Kyle Fryatt gave Benfield the lead with a header at the back post before Ben Dibb-Fuller levelled for Tow Law in the 36th minute.
Glen Hargrave finished well in the 42nd minute to restore Benfield’s lead before Fryatt got his second goal of the game in the 44th minute.
Hargrave got his second and Benfield’s fourth in the 65th minute before Hargrave sealed his hat trick in the 83rd minute to give his side a 5-1 win.
The Lions were looking to extend their unbeaten run to five after not playing in 15 days, meanwhile The Lawyers were looking for their first win at home this season.
It was a great start from Benfield as they took the lead five minutes into the game through Fryatt. A good passage of play from Benfield in the midfield saw the ball find Noah Millington on the left-hand side, who’s ball from the left reached an unmarked Fryatt and his header found the back of the net to give his side the lead.
The Lawyers pegged Benfield back just 10 minutes before the end of the half through Dibb-Fuller when a miscommunication between two Benfield players saw Dibb-Fuller pick up the ball 30 yards out from goal and he drove at the Benfield defence before showing great composure to equalise by finding the bottom corner.
A few minutes later Hargrave put Benfield back in front when Lewis Orrell played a lofted pass which wasn’t dealt with by Tow Law captain Callum Williams and Hargrave pounced on it to go one-on-one with the keeper. Hargrave stayed calm and slotted it past Tom Orton in goal to make it 2-1 to Benfield.
Just on the stroke of half-time, Benfield had their third. A corner from Tow Law was cleared by Benfield, who had a numerical advantage on The Lawyers. Hargrave picked it up just inside the Tow Law half and drove down the left-hand side to then put a great delivery to an unmarked Fryatt who had arrived at the back post for a second time in the game and finished into the bottom left corner to get his brace.
In the 65th minute, Hargrave made it four. A well-worked free kick from Benfield on the right-hand side was crossed in by Andre Bennett and missed everyone before falling to Hargrave at the back post and he headed home for his second of the game.
The fifth and final goal for Benfield came in the 83rd minute when a cross from Kevin Carr on the right-hand side found Hargrave and his diving header into the ground bounced over the keeper to seal Hargrave’s hattrick and Benfield’s three points.
It’s a quick turnaround for Newcastle Benfield side as they return to the MKM Stadium on Tuesday where they face Penrith in a real six-pointer.
