Match Report: Newcastle Benfield 1-0 Carlisle City
Newcastle Benfield returned to winning ways following a 1-0 win over Carlisle City in the Ebac Northern League Division One.

A late strike by substitute Albie Mcpate gave The Lions all three points.
Benfield were boosted by the return of Shay Richardson to the matchday squad.
The first chance of the game however fell for Carlisle City in the 27th minute. A cross towards the back post was only cleared as far as Adam Gordon, who unleashed a curling effort which clipped the crossbar.
Minutes later Benfield thought they had taken the lead – a corner was met by the head of Richardson at the back post, but his effort was cleared off the line.
The hosts continued their momentum into the second half and had a chance in the 51st minute after a long throw caused Carlisle problems and Joe Ames bundled his way past numerous challenges, only to see his effort saved low by Scott Simons.
With 4 minutes left of normal time, The Lions found a goal. Alfa Djalo played the ball to substitute Mcpate out wide, who cut in and found the top corner, giving Benfield all three points.
